Some of NanoBlock's most innovative technologies are being developed for the Biotechnology and Biomedical fields. By functionalizing our primary particle to create new biocompatible, nontoxic materials we plan on becoming a unique provider of new therapies and technologies in this emerging industry.

NanoBlox's most recent product is designated NB90-OX/HCl, designed as a nontoxic scaffolding substrate. This product which has greater than 95% sp3 carbon content and a "clean" surface chemistry with carboxylic acid groups  for further functionalization, was developed for new commercial and clinical applications.  We have demonstrated experimentally in laboratory testing on both a macroscopic and microscopic scale the safety and relevant applications of this material for the biomedical industry. Unlike other nanomaterials in the marketplace, we can reliably produce these materials for specific uses and customized functionality based on medical industry requirements.

Current testing and product development in collaboration with various industries and Universities include:

  • Drug delivery with planned kinetics
  • Nanowires for biomedical devices and therapies
  • Polymer composites with nanodiamond content as high as 80%
  • Targeted in vitro and in vivo imaging and medical therapies
  • Improved coatings for wear resistance and biological contamination of medical devices and prosthetics
  • Biofiltration and separation sciences
